Departure

Departure will be from The Red Lion, Holyhead Road, Wellington at 6.30am and 9am for those who have had a little more practice. A team will be waiting at The Red Lion to assist in your departure and ensure you have everything you need. You will need to make your way to the registration desk upon arrival. We will require you to confirm basic contact details and you will be assigned a rider number.

Support Vehicles

We have a dedicated fleet of support vehicles including first aiders who will be very visible along the route with a lead vehicle and one bringing up the rear following all riders. Your safety is our primary concern - you can rest assured that we have everything you need to get you to the finish line in one way or another!

Rest Stops:

Rest stops will be provided at the best available, most suitable area approximately every 10 miles along the route. The half way stop point is McDonalds in Newtown.

What do I need to Bring?

It is up to cyclists to ensure they bring their own bike - obviously! Repair kits (which we can look after) and also ensure they have lights for those who arrive in Aberystwyth when it is getting dark. We will have extra water & bananas on route please ensure you have sufficient energy powers and and other sustenance you may require for the route.

Sponsorship

Please direct anyone sponsoring you to the Rides' Justgiving Page HERE

Somewhere to Stay

We will have Our ‘Base Camp’ on the sea front - we strongly urge you to get in touch with them to book a room. Availability is fairly good at present but is likely to fill up fairly quickly. You can of course book a room in any hotel in the town.

We have negotiated a deal if you book direct with the hotel saying you are part of the Red Lion to Aberystwyth ride as we have reduced rates.
